Know when your cars come and go.

CarGo integrates with your Ring camera and alerts you on the vehicles you care about, not every car that passes on the street. CarGo learns your vehicles' appearance from your camera and a few taps from you.

How it works

1

Take CarGo for a free spin around the block

Subscribe through the Ring Appstore on your Ring account.

2

Describe your car

CarGo does the rest. You get a picture snip of your vehicle. Tap ✓ Mine or ✗ Not mine on a handful and CarGo learns each vehicle's look — no license plates involved.

3

Get the alert you want

The vehicles you care about on your street, job site, or storefront.

The kind of alerts CarGo sends — tap one to see the still, at the size a Ring camera really gives us.

Questions

Is CarGo in the Play Store or App Store?

CarGo is being developed as a Ring app-store product only. Early access is available now; email us and we will set you up.

Does it read my license plate?

No, it does not. CarGo recognizes your vehicles by their overall appearance, meaning shape, color, and trim, in the same way you would recognize them from across the street. License plates are blurred in every still we keep.

What about neighbors' cars and people in the frame?

CarGo receives the motion alerts your Ring camera already produces, which are triggered by anything that moves, including cars, people, and the occasional lizard. Each still is tightly cropped to the moving vehicle so that the background is removed, and anything that is not the vehicle is filtered out. If a person remains visible in the crop, that person's face is blurred.

How do I get the best results?

The biggest factors are a closer camera, more pixels on the vehicle, good light, and a few dozen ✓ or ✗ taps in the first week. The Help page explains each of these, along with the Ring settings that can silently block vehicle clips, the effect of speed and lighting, and how to handle more than one vehicle.

Will it miss my car or alert on the wrong one?

Sometimes it will, and this happens most often in the first few days. Every ✓ or ✗ you tap makes the next decision more accurate. CarGo is a convenience rather than a security or safety system, and you should not rely on it for either purpose.

Which cameras work?

CarGo works with Ring cameras that record motion clips, which means a Ring subscription is required so that the clips exist for CarGo to analyze.

What does it cost?

Early access is free. We will announce pricing before anyone is charged, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first.

How do I stop it or delete my data?

You can turn off notifications with one tap, remove CarGo's access in your Ring account settings, or email support@cargohold.io, and we will delete everything we hold for you.
